About

November 15-18, 2018 | Washington, D.C.

NALEO Educational Fund’s National Institute for Newly Elected Officials is the preeminent professional development program available to new Latino policymakers. The NALEO National Institute for Newly Elected officials allows participants to successfully launch their careers in public office by equipping them with the necessary governance and leadership skills to become an effective policymaker on behalf of their constituents. The curriculum provides training on how to get started in public office, the policymaking process, budgets, effective messaging and communications, use of social media, ethics, and how to work with the press. Participants benefit from access to seasoned policymakers that serve as mentors, networking with colleagues from across the country, and leading experts that serve as the Institute’s faculty.
